20/08/2008 LEO FARINELLA IS THE 2008 PRESIDENT OF THE GOLDEN FOOT JURY
GOLDEN FOOT promoters, World Champions Club and The Monaco Government
Tourist Office, have nominated the Argentinian Leonardo Farinella as 2008
President of the GOLDEN FOOT Jury. During the gala dinner o the 1st
September, the Editor in chief of Diario Olé, the first Argentinian sports
daily newspaper, will award the 2008 GOLDEN FOOT winner with the prestigious
career prize as representative of international Media Partners of the event. In 2007, the president was the Turkish Dundar Kesapli (Ajansspor.com).
Editor in chief of Diario Olé since 2000, Farinella started his career in journalism as a reporter of Diario La Prensa almost twenty years ago, in 1989. He retired from there as Sports Chief in 1996, called by Clarin Group for the project of the first sports newspaper in Argentina. He participated to the process of creating it and since the very beginning worked in the most important places of the chain of command. Besides of being in charge of the newspaper, he writes a column called De Frente, in which a journalist assumes what team is he fan of, and writes as one of them. He began the process of synergy between Olé and Radio Mitre, originating the radio show SuperOlé, leader in sports audience in Argentina between 2002 and 2004. He participated on air at the diary radio program. He's also a columnist on TV, at the programs Estudio Fútbol and 48 Horas, both shows of TyC Sports channel, leader sports signal in the country. |
