CHAMPIONS LEAGUE OR COPA LIBERTADORES?
Many people believe that the Champions League is the most important and prestigious clubs’ tournament in the world. As a matter of fact, however, in the direct matches between the Champions League winning team and the Copa Libertadores de América (i.e. the South American “sister” competition) winning team, the latter is generally more successful. Since 1960 the clubs’ World Champion title was awarded, without the endorsement of FIFA, with the Intercontinental Cup (created by an idea of Santiago Bernabeu, the great madridist president) which was replaced by the FIFA Club World Championship in 2006. The South American clubs, since a few years deprived of their best talents who leave to wear the European clubs shirts, won 21 out of the 24 matches played up to now. Is it, then, true that the best football is played in

European journalists (and clubs) are very presumptuouses! South American clubs are much more motivated when they play against European clubs, the results is obvious...

The average level of South American football, in terms of skills, is higher the Europe and stronger in knockout games as Intercontinental Cup.

Nowadays, the european football is better than south american. The best south americans players have a dream which is play football in the most important leagues like Spanish, Italian or England league.

i think that the europeans dont care this tournament and they dont have the need to show anything to anyone because they already won the most important, the champions league.

They want to play football in Europe because there they earn a lot of money that in South America can't. The football in Argentina and Brazil is one hundred times better...
How Messi and Ronaldinho are not at the votation?

European football lives thanks to the south american players... Maradona, Pelé, Ronaldo, Di Stefano, Ronaldinho, Bastistuta, Rivaldo, etc, etc... The difference is just in the money they pays... just this...
I like to know how things will be the day in that the european players have to get his own players...
And why european teams don´t come to south america? Play here is not for everyone... do you imagine at real, barcelona r liverpool playing in the bombonera or the maracaná?... i want to see them

RESPONSE TO USA TEAMS PLAYING: MLS clubs are not up to par with the South American clubs. DC United was invited to play in the Copa Sudamericana and was eliminated in their first match-up by Chivas de Guadalajara of Mexico. It would be nice to see the MLS represented in international compition, but lets see a MLS club win their own continental club championship first.
