ITALY IS THE WORLD CHAMPION TEAM, WHICH WAS THE MOST DISAPPOINTING TEAM OF THE WORLD CUP?
Italy is the world champion team, but nobody considered the Azzurri team one of the favourites of the World Cup just ended. It was not the World Cup of the most eagerly awaited stars, it was rather the World Cup of the hard workers, of the unselfish players. Which is the team that lost the big chance and that disappointed most among Brazil, England, Argentina, Spain, etc., i.e. among the most esteemed teams at the beginning of the tournament? And why?

Italy had a great group, the most motivated, other team arrived in Germany too tired, as Brazil. Then, Italy has the best goalkeeper in the world ...

Too games in the clubs season! Footballers arrive too tired to competitions like the World Cup. To preserve the talent they have to reduce the games.

Argentina has been a disappointment, with Germany it has the control of the game but lost the game ... with a player like Messi on the bench! That's incredible.

Brazil didn't play as it know. Its players played too match games during the season and were not in the best conditions to beat teams like France or Italy.

Italy won the cup beacuse has the best goalkeeper (Buffon),the best defender (Cannavaro),the best midfielder (Pirlo),and 2 great forwards (Toni and Gilardino)..ah,don't forget guys like Totti,Zambrotta and Materazzi..
We're ready for the European Cup,and we shall defend the Cup in South Africa!

England is the main dissapointment! They had best midfield 'by names' and all these guys are in their prime, but...I think the coaching was bad and the luck wasn't there. They played at 25% what they could've and what I've seen. #2 dissapp. is Brazil - I don't understand it at all!

Without a doubt Italy was the best team of the world cup 2006. It had the best defense of all the teams in addition to the best goalkeeper in the world. Their midfield was very solid and had many scoring choices for their offense.

I found England the most disappointing team, they have a great team on paper and they clearly underperformed. The manager is also to blame, he should have left Beckham and Lampard out.

Italy had just a good luck. For example... do you remeber their match against Australia? Buffon is excellent goalkeeper, but Petr Cech is better :) A lot of teams were a disapointment. Brazil, Argentina, Czech republic... Spain and England - this is a tradition.

I am a Italain, but i have to say mexico had a poor world cup. they shouldv made it to the final.
