Today, at 12.00 GMT, the voting to decide the 2009 Golden Foot winner has been closed. The international award, won last year by Brazilian Roberto Carlos, this year has had four candidates dominated the pool: Buffon, Henry, Raśl and Ronaldinho. But only one will leave his footprints on the CHAMPIONS PROMENADE next October, 12th. He will be able to be honoured thanks to football fans who elected him voting from all over the world. The votes we received were more than 158.000 (new Golden Foot record) and arrived from a large base of countries (Algeria, Brazil, China, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Spain, Turkey and Usa, in alphabetical order, are the 10 countries with more users). More than 10.500 are the award's community members, 500.000 the visits to the official website, with more than 2.250.000 pages viewed. The organizers already know the name of the winner who will be awarded by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco next Monday. With the winner also Boniek, Blokhin, Higuita, Rummenigge and Nilton Santos will be honoured as legends of football.
