RIQUELME OUT, HIGUAIN IN

Argentina's Juan Román Riquelme has twice announced his international retirement: the first time after the 2006 World Cup, and then again last year in frustration at criticism from national coach Diego Maradona. "We don't share the same codes of ethics," Riquelme said. "While he is the coach of the national team, we can't work together." This fact helped Maradona to solve the problem and to remove Riquelme from his plans. But Argentina have probably found their way to play, like the important win in Munich showed. El Pibe de Oro position is becoming stronger and stronger. “We wanted to demonstrate against a great team that we are alive and able to compete. We had a plan and the players stuck to it and got the result,” he stated. The new star is Real Madrid CF striker Gonzalo Higuain. “The whole team was great against Germany and now I hope to be part of the same thing when we go to South Africa”, he was quoted.
