If the results and the performances count on the call-ups for next European championship, then Raúl González Blanco will certainly deserve a spot in the Spanish national selection. Not much because of his extraordinary career but because of his current form. The season that is ending has brought Raúl the umpteenth Liga title (his sixth with Real Madrid CF) and one of his best performances over the last few years. “I feel that I’m a player that might be chosen. The coach has not closed the doors on me and I keep on working. I think that my level has been good during this season, I have the conviction to take part into Euro 2008 because to me playing for Spain is a privilege and being able to get into the 23-men list would be something great” said Merengues’ captain even before being crowned champion of Spain in 2008.
